Thought you might be interested to see this particular tool in action for the removal of the bogie springs of a Aust / NZ LP carrier. 2 reasons for using it was ,1 to see how well it works, and 2, a friend brought back from OZ not so long ago a copy of a parts manual that I hadn't seen before. What was interesting was that it showed that the front and rear inner and outer bogie springs are of different lengths. On my carrier the springs are all the same length. The carrier has a noticable nose down /bum up attitude although hopefully this will go once all the rear steel work is added. If not this particular tool will be well used!

and much safer than the MacPherson strut spring compressor I used earlier. It doesn't scratch the paint on the springs either! Only problem I found was the number of turns required of the fine thread to get the spring rod to clear the bracket.
I have got one of the tools and had a new centre piece made to suit the Whitworth threads on the nos English spring rods. Rob |

David mentions is: List of Spare Parts for the Carrier, M.G. (Aust) published in 1943.
It has 20 pages of illustrations showing most of the parts in an LP2A carrier. Problem is page 13 is missing!?! Does anyone out there have a complete copy? Please. Rob |

hahahahahahahaha
![]() What you guys are talking about is the illustrated spare parts manual. We all must have one from the same source. I've been looking for page 13 for ages - no luck. I think Jared Archibald and Tony Smith don't have it either. Good luck finding it....but if you do......could you shoot a copy this way too ![]() Pedr |

Our copy(s) came from Australia last year, probably the same source.
The missing part numbers are mainly automotive, between 649/12 and 661/8 (excl). I wish I had this back when I started the carrier project: the sketches of parts are great for identifying parts, especially the ones you dont have, or don't know you need yet! will keep looking! Rob |

I too have a copy of the dreaded "list" and guess what, I don't have page 13 either.
I made a few copies up and made them available, but now I can't seem to get hold of the missing page either, and no one seems to have an original. ![]()
