What is the second filler spout for ? It appears to have provision for a dipstick , and this tank is out of a C15 Australian wireless van . Jim S.

I'd hazard a guess that it is for a dipstick type fuel gauge like a carrier has.

Max and I both have a couple of Dipsticks of a few different varieties. Max put up some pics of some his Masonite ones in this thread, while the ones I have are hardwood.

I will make up some measuring sticks similar to the one's on the other thread . Why did they have these dipsticks in limited amounts or specific vehicles. Jim S.

Hey Jim silly question, does the tank have a divider between the fillers? I thought it may have had a separate tank for fuel for a battery charging generator. Just a thought.

That sounds like a very logical answer but there is only one pick up coming out of the tank . The battery charging generator may have fed off either tank through the fuel filter and perhaps this was a method of measuring tank capacities when stopped . Seems a bit overboard when you could turn on the key and select the tank and read the fuel gauge . Obviously there was a need to dip the tanks manually . I have only seen a few of these blitz tanks with dipsticks . Do any of the Canadian models have them ? Regards Jim S
