I obtained these pictures and about 25 more, not all of carriers, plus a brilliant film of the trials. Lent the film to a friend who left this area and I have not seen the film since. I was given all this by a soldier who was in a "trial and evaluation unit. They also did waterproofing trials in the Keswick area. Any more info please ask, John.

Elswhere on MLU there has been mention of this site which has some film clips from Combined Ops Trials in Woolacombe (Devon or Dorset). Though not a tread-head myself, I thought I would post these screengrabs.
1 is described as a Backburn Carrier, 2 a Straussler Carrier and 3 a Kapok Carrier (modified) - sorry I couldn't get better shots
