I have in my possession 14 New Old Stock (N.O.S) wiring harnesses for the CMPs. I believe 11 are for the Ford and 3 are for the Chev.
All harnesses are complete and in excellent condition with toggle switches, lamp sockets and terminals. Some harnesses still retain original string and service tag. Two of the Ford harnesses have slight damage to the primary cloth braiding. Rubber connectors have hardened but all there. I would like to sell them (all or individually) so please PM me if interested. Regards Stuart ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Stuart Kirkham; 10-10-10 at 04:25. |

What a beaut find, well done... 15 years ago I would have been very excited but my blitz days are over now. I hope they all find good homes though.
Cheers Phill

That would be *C11Q-14401 wiring-cowl. Any suffixes A, B or C?
See the January 1942 Ford spare parts list below for variations on this part number plus applications. The May 1943 F15A spare part list mentions *C11Q-14401-C was used to serial #21565 with old design cab (read: Cab no. 11 and 12). From serial #21566 with new design cab (read: Cab no. 13) part no. *C29QF-14401 was specified. HTH, Hanno ![]()

Bill Drew had heaps of Chev looms for a few bucks each years ago.. I bought one .. It was very long and had wires everywhere . I still have a few bits of it around . They were all roughly piled in a corner of one of the Drew's yards they had in the back streets .Contained in a package of greasy ww2 wax preservative.. God knows what became of them.
They are typically heavy gauge wire for 6 volt systems .

For the insulated connectors that go hard with time, there is a replacement. Lucas makes an almost identical part, I bought a few hundred a decade or so back from a military surplus store. The parts likely came from Suffield, where the British train here in Canada.
The NSN was 5935-99-805-0001 and the part number was LU/CWB300W25 . Not sure what they were meant for but they will do the job nicely. |

My Chev wiring loom arrived today. For 65 years old its in pretty good shape. Worth the money just for the switches and yes the insulators are
hard. Doesnt seem to work the same for old blokes. Thanks Stuart well done. Graeme |
