Hi All
Does anyone have a good photo or drawings on the "stop" unit that slides in the grove of the AA Bren gun mount. In the Illustrated parts Catalogue FUC-03 on page 328, there is an Illustration which appears to show the item as being made of round material with a tag at one end and a 10-32 x 1/4 round headed screw at the other. The tag and screw fits in with what I have but I find it hard to believe the round bar "stop" section. I would have thought a piece of key steel 3/16 square to a 1/4 square would be more suitable. If anyone can help, that would be great. Just an extra note. I am reproducing these. Anyone interested? Kind regards n Last edited by nigel ward; 08-04-11 at 14:55. It is a piece of keystock about 1/2" long rounded at both ends.
Hole in the centre for a screw. Real flimsy looking when done. There is no washer under the screw. Peter S |

In the parts book it shows a screw at one end and a peg of some kind at the other end that would give extra support against the springs action. How is the peg attached to the stop? I assume a hole drilled and a pen pressed in but.....
I noticed that in the Mk1 parts book they only show a screw and no stop. It looks like they had a few screws snapping and gear flying all over the place, hence the stop. Thanks again Peter, all help gratefully received. Nigel |
