F60L Markings
Hi Guys
Just bought my first blitz Just wondering if any on can give me any light one the markings that are found on the drivers side front mud guard

The round circle is possibly a bridge class marking...indicating weight rating of vehicle for crossing bridge.. I expect it would be a 7, possibly 9

Your truck appears to be an MCP (Modified Civilian Pattern) 60cwt rather then an F60L as well. It also was never refered to as a blitz as this was the common name for the CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) vehicles both Chev and Ford.
Any chance of more photos of the whole vehicle?

What about an ARN - on Australian ones they were usually painted on the top or side of the front cowl. We may be able to tell what body it originally had. Also do you now anything about the timber tray the bolts and brackets still have olive drab paint i thought the the trays should be steel?? Dennis

Thanks for that, Dennis.
I've added it to the database, the closest one I have to it is serial 9708 which was a cab 12 F60L, ARN 22955. As for the tray it has a decidedly civvy look to it. The originals were built with a lot of timber but were shorter, with a space for the spare wheel carrier behind the cab.

Not all CMP are created equal here is a 15cwt that was on a air base and it also had a wood deck

Look at that!!
Fantastic find Dennis. The old girl is in amazing condition. That metal strip hanging down over the windscreen should be treated like gold. You simply wont find a replacement for it.

more to the timber tray i have attached some pics that so the U-bolts and brackets have olive drab paint which lead me to believe the tray to be original army although it might not be factory original

you may find that the front part of the deck closest to the cab has been modified to fill in the section where the spare wheel mount and toolbox sit behind the cab while the rest is original.
