Did the Canadians appropriate some of the US expressions like FUBAR (pron "FOOBAR") and SNAFU?
They've found their way into our language, most people not knowing the true meaning or even that these are acronyms. There are polite ways to explain these such as "Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition" and "Situation Normal, All Fouled Up" but military people generally substituted one of the words. ![]()
