I have the same original books for Cromwell and Churchill which cost £100 each but I wouldn't want to pay any more than that but good luck if you bid for it. it will be interesting to see what it goes for.

Default congrats

Looks in great condition. Can anyone tell me the cover colour setup for these. I have one but it is brown with black writing. I know the parts ones too vary in colour too. Have a black one but again have seen the exact same manual in brown. Colours seen are black, blue, brown and green.

Nigel, The Armoured O.P ones are black, if that is any use.

Nigel, The Armoured O.P ones are black, if that is any use.
The Brit carrier ones that dome shut appear to me to be black.
I have a burgundy covered one for the big Daimlier armoured car.
My recall is that the Valentine ones are black.
I think the brown one is the Canadian manual.
Have not seen the parts books.
The info inside in the second picture appears the same as my Chillwell 63/63 fawn coloured cardboard type Universal Carriers, Workshop instruction book, dated Jan 43.
It states first printed Jan 1943, reprinted embodying amendments Nos. 1 and 2, April 1944.

It is grand to see your interest in the hobby grow as time goes by since I met you. You are the second person who I know who has come into the hobby shall we say later in life but with full engagement.

We all look forward to see you and you carrier around locally in 2014.

From your neighbour on the other island in the same Township

Hi Lynn

I have an AOP MkIII manual. Its smaller than my brown UC-F1 manual for my carrier, but it is green, dated September 1942 and Chilwell No. 63/29.

Maybe someone, not me, should start an online picture library showing all the carrier manuals out there!!

Nigel

Nigel

A thread on carrier books would be great, the British Chilwell ones would certainly be of interest. Lynn suggested that the 63/ number might be reference to carriers with the second number a volume or version.

I'm away for a couple of days but when I get back I'll kick off a new thread.

Ben
