			Hello Gentlemen,

I am building an RAAF Ford pickup in 1:35 scale. This one. ![]() I have also found this picture. ![]() Is the contraption attached to the bumper a Bren AA mount? If so does anyone have more info about it? Maybe dimensions and how it is attached, there seems to be a connection to the mudguard?? ![]() thanks in advance All the best Leon |

I've seen similar mounts coming from the roof for a Bren. Will look in my files and see if I can find any.

I doubt that it is a gun mount.

Would be an odd place for an A-A gun mount of any kind. AA mounts go on top at the highest point. Maybe a homemade umbrella holder for giving shade in the desert when on halts?

The top pic is of a 1940 model. The lower pic is of a 1941 model - this vehicle has wider tyres fitted and may be a 30 cwt model , it is higher compared to the 15 cwt ? ute in the top pic., the bonnet is at shoulder height

I have found two more pictures with this device. Both are 3 ton RAF Ford trucks, so maybe it is a RAF specific thing? ![]() Strange also is that I have found this only on Ford trucks?? It may not be appropriate to put on an 15cwt RAAF ford truck ![]() ![]() ![]() I agree it is a strange place for a AA mount, but I have no idear what els it could be. All the best Leon |

I have seen similar fittings on signals vehicles, they ran the signal/telephone cables through a fitting mounted on a pole on the signals trucks , similar to that setup in your pic Mike
