Not even sure which forum to put this in. Perhaps it's off a trailer. More of a hunch than anything that it is military. Any ideas lads?

....a garbage bin...... ...overbuilt enough to be military with that curved roof....... ....could come in handy as a shelter when the wife gets made at you!!!! How big is it....Jeep trailer size or bigger?

| size matters

I knew someone would probably ask that. And fair enough.... only problem is I don't know Bob. Pictures were sent to me by a farmer. Best guess is about two jeep trailers (I think). Owner is old and adamant that it is war surplus.

There were a range of plant trailers built by McGrath that were fitted with Generators, Compressors and Water Pumps. However, it looks similar to (close enough) the the body off a Nunn Searchlight generator. Just what I need for my chassis without body! Don't suppose you could get measurements? |

Based on the nearby batteries on the ground 2 Jeep Trailers seems to be an accurate guess to size. (did I just say 'accurate guess'? I have been working in government too long...) The doors look interesting. Are those latches at the top? If so it would have to sit low enough if on a trailer to be reached from the ground. That search light generator chassis you showed would be possible, or something similar. But I doubt it would sit high like a truck bed. Matt |

| Well done

Thanks Fellows, I think the assessment it might be a generator cover is spot on. Farmer will hopefully take some measurements and report back.
