A case of swords to ploughshares...

For 6 years between 1946 and 1952, a Melbourne engineering company headed by Jack Strickland converted 150 surplus LP2 and LP2A Carriers to tractors for the farmers of Victoria under a scheme introduced by the state government. Jack died in 1960 but his grandson Matt was at the Corowa event, along with a Strickland carrier he used to own, kindly trailered up by John Belfield who now owns it. I interviewed Matt for the Carrier DVD, and photographed a number of his family album images. I've started to make a series of pages on this interesting subject. A shot showing the vaporiser to allow the engine to run on Power Kerosene.
