After WW2 actions

this may be a dumb question but do any of our historians out there have any published info of helping concentration camp prisoners.The 1st div service corp trucks were convoyed ,for what reason,I don't know,across the German border to aid these victims.I do remember my father telling me of the horrors they saw when they got to the camp,this camp also I could't name.

Here's what little I know:

• April 12, 1945: Canadian troops liberate Nazi concentration camp Westerbork, Netherlands
• On April 15, 1945, the Belsen concentration camp, near the village of Bergen, was liberated by British troops.

Will try to find more infor later, have to run now.

Liberated by No. 7 Troop, 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars), C.A.C. and The South Sackatchewan Regiment from the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division

IIRC, Blackburn covered this in his book THE GUNS OF VICTORY. As a FOO, he spent a lot of time with 8th Recce during the latter stages of the war.
