BROKEN PROMISE

I salute you they whose yesterday never came.
In a short life of rain cold and anguish.
You gave life in full bloom with no tomorrows.
We failed you surely on the promises we made.
Before the soft new mounds crowned with crosses
Sketched with names of peoples of all mankind.
We swore a promise never again.
As we slowly fade by the winds of time to lifes end.
We leave this world in shame
Vacating this stage bloodied once again.
A world draped in insanity and war.
