Default My own database

I have no idea about Mr Ford's but mine has been collected for many years, and like my head gest bigger ever day!

Try this, it's a BIGGGG 1.5 MB file but it includes 1939-45 civilian vehicles as they were often impressed.

CANADIAN WARTIME CHEVROLET DATABASE MEGA FILE

4844521386 is the last known [to me] Chevrolet CMP

Default Please Sir can I have some more?

Hey, you want MORE? Said the Beadle to Oliver Twist, sorry Robert? Well I have more to add in in the future from British post-war registrations, so the list will get better but it takes a lot of time and effort and I add to the listing when I can.

Default incredible !

David,

What a special effort that database is . You must be our number cruncher on the MLU forum I think . I spotted my 1940 15 cwt ute in your list ........ 99% of these utes were sent overseas with the AIF , hence their rarity at home . Interestingly my vehicle has the CFA ( Country Fire Authority ) logo on the door , but the CFA didn't come into existance until 1944 I believe . It escaped military service by some miracle . The Holden body plate says: colour PRT RD , which is Port Red I think . The faded red paint is visible on the cab .

Default survivor

My survivor hiding under a pear tree , Unfortunately , the chassis has been crunched at the R H side rear . The Holden cabs have a different radius on the cab roof compared to the Nth. American cabs . It appears to have done low miles . Found down near Geelong .

G'day Mike! If that cab is a Holden one then the Canadian designation was 1301 Special Chassis for Australia CKD, in the 1/2 ton range. Note the "C" prefix indicating light Commercial 216, whereas the heavier trucks above 1-ton had "T" prefixes.

Here's an Oshawa equivalent to compare:

GENERAL MOTORS OF CANADA LIMITED
MADE IN GM CANADA
OSHAWA WALKERVILLE REGINA
MODEL 1314
SERIAL 0-131403876
ENGINE C2804748
BODY SERIAL 3776
PAINT 33
TRIM 279
Engine # C2,804,748

and a very, very rare Regina one:

GENERAL MOTORS OF CANADA LIMITED
MADE IN GM CANADA
OSHAWA WALKERVILLE REGINA
MODEL 1314
SERIAL 0-131480039
ENGINE ??
BODY SERIAL 9 !!!!
PAINT 33
TRIM (blank)

Default GB Database

If it is of any interest, here's my British Chevrolet database, and I have a load more to add! It does not include CMPs as I have added the chassis numbers to the Canadian database.

Warning it is 1.5MB and a .doc file. I hope that you look at the Southampton-assembled vehicles.

British Chevrolet Database Mega File

This is only a fraction of the registration records I have seen, as these are the only ones selected because of chassis/engine numbers.

I helped out a guy in Australia yesterday and this morning with a decode on his Holden chevy sedan:

Quote:
David thank you for the information, you have no idea how long I have been trying to get that code broken, not even GM could help.

I say again thank you and have a good christmas
Nice that. As I say, we aim to please, and please to aim!

Default Vans

David

It's interesting that the Australian army designated these as 15 cwt GS Vans , whereas the Canadian/US GM supplier called them 1/2 ton chassis .

Default 15-cwt

Mike, the Southampton Plant assembled JC Master Chassis with Cowl, 113 1/2" w.b. 1/2-tonners as the "CS" namely, "Chassis, Short" and the 123 3/4" JB 3/4-tonner as the "CL", for "Chassis, Long". In fact the very first truck assembled was a CS chassis-cowl and these were both rated at 15-cwt. Rego evidence shows that they were each comercially rated at around 30-cwt!
