Kym,
The tail light looks to me like a boat navigation light. Not the original thing for a truck though.......Red, green and white are available ![]() They would be good to use as they are waterproof & low intensity. I nice touch I reckon! Ian

Yes Ian I agree after looking at some other lights that that I have lying around I think they would look good .. As Im not doing the military thing with her and doing an "Afterlife" restoration I think they would be ideal...
Sorry to all the Purist Military guys out there.. ![]() I took the tray off yesterday and things are moving quite rapidly for a change.. I will post a picture of her soon without the tray.. She looks like a short tailed Fox Terrier.!!! ![]()

1. So you can do what you want. If I or anyone else thinks it should be done differently, we can do it on our trucks.
2. But I'm still a little saddened because immediately after being surplussed, most parts on the truck would have still been military until they wore out, broke or were stolen by heathens. 3. Point 1 trumps point 2. |

That light is a clearance light, normally found on the outer edges of box bodies and as a marker light down the sides of long trailers, etc
I've got a photo of a Dodge rail truck with a box body and those lights on the top edge and sides of the body - somewhere.

Yes I agree the lights are side lights but the are very similar to some boat lights my mate has..
Dad tells me there are some original ones off his Blitz in the shed "somewhere".!! Next job is to try and find them.. The tray is now off thanks to the old forklift and half a gallon of WD 40.!! Got the tool box off as well.. I'm missing the strap whatever that holds the spare wheel down on the tool box carrier.. anyone got a good picture ??

![]() ![]() I have not been able to do much with her since the accident.. What accident?? Well folks take care with your angle grinders when cutting bolts that have been butchered in the past.. I tried to cut the head off one such bolt and found myself lying on the ground about 2 m away covered in blood.. The disc exploded and the 9 inch grinder tried to take my arm off at the shoulder..!! BUT .. I was wearing GOOD glasses and the Doc reckons they saved at least one if not both eyes.!! Its been weeks now and I am finally back on track and I have both eyes.!! Thanks to those glasses (see the picture.!!) Always wear them even if its for just the smallest job.. Like this one.. Just one bolt head.. Another lesson learned.. ![]()

Bloody hell mate,
Shit you were lucky. I hate the 9" at the best of times. It's alright for cutting a bit of angle or plate but I feel much happier with the 3" for bolts and stuff, or one of those reciprocating saws. Guess that's why Telstra threw all the 9" grinders in the scrap bin. ![]() Pedr |
