OK guys, i found this photo whilst scratching around the net and would like more info on it for my files. Presume its Ford based and the only clue is the Inglis factory were involved

I think it's a Chev C60X as the Ford F60H has a tag axle and a split diff.
Here's a photo of a couple of C60X diffs available in Victoria OZ. Rick

Definately a C60X due to the Chev cab, but what is interesting is the 16" wheels and the huge shock absorbers on the rear axles! Gun(s) appears to be a Quad-mount Oerlikon

No not the Prince of Darkness but the one from Star Wars fame must have copied this gun type, it looks just like the head of an "Imperial Walker".

Hi Les;

What you have found is another photo of the first pilot self-propelled version of the Inglis quad-mounted 20mm anti-aircraft gun, which is mounted on a GMC unarmoured 6x6 chassis. These photos were taken in March 1943 at the John Inglis plant in Toronto. Although a large quantity of this SP version were ordered, the contract was cancelled before deliveries in quantity started.

As mentioned before the DND cancelled the F60H orders in favour of the C60X, although export orders did continue for the former into the # 13 Cab era.

That is one heck of a photo if I may say so!
