| 2 pounder data

Does anyone out there have a good illustration of a 2 pounder gun and mounting as was installed in most British tanks? A manual illustration would be a great reference. 2 pounder details seem to be very scarce on the internet. AFV interiors was some help, but the pictures were thin on details.I think there is a shoulder pad in it,like the early 37mm US mount. Thanks

| 2 pounder mounting

Great photos, and I notice that they can be enlarged when viewing by clicking on the + sign. What I seem to gather is that one handle, the left one I think, fires the main gun through a linkage to the striker assembly on the breechblock. The other one is for the co-axial Besa.Apparently the elevation is with the shoulder brace, and traverse is with the turret traverse box .I would think there is probably a brake on the elevation control to maintain the setting also. Thanks very much for taking the time to post this! I found, also, in `toadmanstankpictures` site, under Allied gallery,in the British tanks, like the Valentine, Crusader, etc., there is a bit more in photos, but nothing as complete and accurate as these photos from a manual.
