It is spring loaded and has no locked position. It can only be turned clockwise 90 degrees and no more.

It's position is under the gun near the commander's side.

Looks like the turret lock.

Great to see such a complete Staghound. I'm sure the restoration will require much more effort than anticipated at the moment, but it will be well worth the effort. Thanks for keeping us up to date and sharing pictures.
