What is a Carrier, Wheeled, Fitted For Gun Towing?

The Canadian infantry battalion War Establishment lists Carrier, Wheeled, Fitted for Gun Towing.

What kind of vehicles were these, specifically, for infantry battalions in the U.K.? I understand they were replaced by T16s before Normandy. Were these 15-cwt trucks?
