In the late 60s I did some work on a sugarcane farm west of Mackay Australia. The farmer had a F15 2wd cut down with rails welded to the chassis to carry a full stick cane tram wagon.
I remember discussing it with him and he told me they bought it from Eagers, Mackay who were the Queensland Chev / GMH distribuitor for Queensland. When purchased it was a water tanker with 900miles on the clock and the figure of 150 pounds sticks in the mind but that figure may not be right, time and the memory fades. The top and rear of the cab resided in a nearby gully as unnecessary kit. They also had a bonneted ute there as well. Here is a pic of a WW2 landing on a Northern Pacific Island I came across on the net some time ago. It looks like a tank on the beach on each side of the landing ships standng guard. going by the amount of vehicles on the ground at least one LS had allready unloaded and left.
