Ok folks i have managed to secure a deal at a firm based in Gloucestershire to re rubber carrier wheels, the lead in time would be 2 - 3 weeks notice and the firm would need all bearings and rubber remains removed from the wheels, i have been quoted £70.00 per wheel which is half the price of what i have previously been quoted in the past and the material used would be "Elastomeric" which has the same appearence and impact resistance as the rubber which would be relaced (if not more) the firm would have to make a mould for our needs.
next question would be how many of us need wheels done ? i know i have two for sure and some of my remaining wheels are not too clever...... the quote given lasts for 30 days. you need to weigh up "How long can i wait for a good set of wheels to turn up on ebay or elsewhere" with " I am in a rush for new wheels" hehehehe these are thinning out a bit now, and as more and more carrier projects are being started the prices for second hand wheels will no doubt rise. cheers Richie
