Default Post-war British use

I have been discussing with a colleague about the limited Ford of Britain refurbishment facilities that I knew of. I think Sydney Alllard's companies continued to do work on V-8s for the Ministry of Supply, and may have done work on Ford/Fordson trucks as they did during the war. However, I know a lot about Ford's subsidiary Lincoln Cars Ltd on the Great West Road in Brentford: they continued to do work on V-8s up until around 1950. This included engines from carriers and for use in generators, landing craft, etc. My question is therefore, to what extent were Carriers used by the British post-war, and for how long?
