Jeep heaters

Hi guys

Back in 1962 or 63 I came across the pond to Gagetown on one of the Pond Jump exercises. We were issued with Canadian vehicles. I have a recollection that some at least of the jeeps we had (M38 if I remember right) had a box fitted in front of the windscreen which we were led to believe was a heater (obviously sensible for Canadian winters, but we did not need to use them). Does anyone have any recollection (or better still pictures) of these?
