A the last meeting of the OMVA at Swiss Chalet this week, I offered to hold some information and hands on workshops to help anyone that is working on military vehicles.
These workshops would be informal and hopefully educational for the average collector. We do not want to make professionals, but we would like to help people restoring their own vehicles. Some of the topics we could look at are: - Welding, arc and mig - brazing silver soldering - using a plasma arc cutter - body work and metal forming - electrical wiring - tune ups - vehicle painting(everyone's favorite thing) - inspecting a vehicle prior to purchasing - fault finding electrical and mechanical - changing brakes - storing your vehicle for the winter/prepping it for the summer - etc etc etc....!!!!! These are just some of the topics, and we would be open to any suggestion. The format to follow is to ask the participation of everyone who has a particular skill. Everyone has a skill that they are good at and we want that person to share his knowledge. (At this point I must tell Bob that the finer points of beer drinking will be considered) ![]() ![]() ![]() We have so much talent in the MV community that it is now time for everyone to share their skills. ![]() ![]() These seminars could be held on a Saturday or Sunday during the winter months. I am offering my garage and equipment for the seminars. I would like to get a feedback on what you think of my idea and if the interest is sufficient we will create a census sheet to fill in. This is offered to all members of the MLU and OMVA. Thanks Gilles |
