Default more Background

This machine used to be owned by the Burns Lumbering Company and was used to haul supplies and as a general workhorse. I met the man who was the last person to drive it back in early 60s. He removed the last cabin of the company with it and then was told to park it and leave it in the bush.

Interesting the old cabin was seen to be worth more to recycle than the carrier.

He gave me fairly detailed notes on where to find it and a CMP. The CMP I found right where he said it was. The carrier proved more elusive! At some point it had been found and dragged on to private property not too far from where it was originally abandoned. And there it sat. (we are trying to locate/contact the owner about purchasing it)

The pics are the result of a lot of digging! LOL! Literally there was a whack of snow on it. We were pretty tired by then. It seems to be a Mk1 but I will try this weekend to get out again and see if I can find the engine Serial number. None of the hull numbers exist anymore! All upper hull plates have been removed long ago to reduce weight.

We also have a lead on a 3rd UC not too far from here. We hope to have more info about that one soon.
