"The attack on the right flank at Pourville by the SSR and the Camerons , planned to coincide with that of The Royal Regiment at Puys, brought some initial success for both regiments." "As the LCT bearing 6th BDE HQ pulled into White Beach, the regiments reported successful landings, some progress toward objectives." It was after the reserves (Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal) landed that the fighting was the fiercest. "It was not long before a message came through from them reporting themselves surrounded."
