Default Fuel line sizes

Hi Svenn,

Oh well, if 5/16" is the size of tubing used on Chevy CMP truck fuel lines that's just one of hundred of differences between the Ford and Chevy CMP trucks.

You would think there would have been a bit more standardization between the two manufacturers for simplicity during the war. Ford and Willys did it with the Jeep for the most part.

Another thing I note on the Ford fuel lines they all have a 3" approximate diameter loop in them between the tanks and changeover valve, the changeover valve to the filter, and the fuel filter to the carburetor. These are to allow for the movement between the chassis and the cab floor and movement between the engine and the chassis in the case of the carby line. Like many things, these do not appear in the Maintenance or Parts manuals but existed on the actual vehicles

Again, bit reluctant to say Chevy's had them but an inspection of another Chev truck original fuel lines may confirm if they did the same thing with theirs.
Over to the Chev CMP truck owners for comment.

Cheers,
