Your third photo from the rear of the carrier is interesting. It shows the rear supports of the tubular framework for the cover mounted with the outboard bolts for the two Bren Tripod brackets on the rear armour plate.

Several of the Ford photos I have show the two Bren Tripod brackets with these bolts missing and the brackets hanging lose on the back of the carrier. It looked sloppy, but if they were constantly assembling and disassembling the top assembly on this carrier at the factory, it was probably easier to leave those two bolts out whenever the top was removed.
