Bovril, although similar appearance, is actually a meat extract, it is in the name, "bovine". Marmite if I recall is a yeast by-product of the brewing industry. With out looking it up to check, I believe it was exported to Australia but during WW1 the supply stopped and hence how Vegemite came in to being to fill the gap. Off to the supermarket now to ask why they do not stock Vegemite anymore ![]()
