Fuel tank ID required

A friend of mine found this fuel tank and would like to ID it.
It is faded khaki green
Length 87cm
Height 29cm
Width (bottom) 26cm
Width (top) 16.5cm

I thought Stuart tank oil/fuel tank, but that would have been painted white.
Possible truck or armoured car?

Owner would like to trade it to a good home where it can be used.
