Euan, just off the phone to you and saw your post. In NZ, a lot of houses had some of that flexi type armour used on the wiring that went from the conduit box at the wall to the hot water cylinder. maybe it was the same in Aust. and maybe a long established electrical wholesaler is worth a shot. Just a thought.
