Default Question on WW1 in France and Belgium

I has looking at some army paperwork of my grandfather. He enlisted with the Royal Sussex Regt in 1914 but was transferred to 2nd Wilts Regt later on before being invalided out after being wounded. On this card there is a phrase written in "G Force France" and two dates from 1916 to 1917 (cannot recollect exact days and months). Googling "G force" comes up a lot of unrelated things so wonder if this means anything to anyone because I have no idea as to where he was fighting as he never spoke about it to me.

regards, Richard
