Might I suggest a 1:1 template? Even if it is just a photocopy or simple outline drawing or mylar stencil. Thse were the same size and shape for the various divisions with the exception of the background colour. I used a photo copy from Barry Beldam's book to do the paint work on my 12 cab years ago... Nothing makes me crazier than a maple leaf that looks like everything other than a maple leaf. eg a pine tree or cartoon drawing of same...
