Default The old Canadian Veteran's Day Holiday

Does anyone remember when this event used to take place? I think it was a July or August weekend date and our entire family used to go to the one in Winnipeg each year in the 1950's. All the local Regiments, RCAF and RCN units used to take part in a big parade down Broadway and Memorial Blvd, along with City of Winnipeg Police and Fire crews. The weather was always great and the crowds were huge. Suspect it was eventually consolidated with Remembrance Day in November.

Used to love sitting on the curb with my cousins watching the tanks and artillery rolling by! All that CMP stuff and so 'new' back then!
