I went to high school with a kid, he told us of his dads wartime pilot days, being shot down over Germany ..a unusual surname .
Anyway , a few years back I found a book in a op shop .. this same guy was featured in the book . After his POW days , he came home and he was in a special RAAF unit after the war , the same chap ! His unit had a lugger and they traveled all over PNG looking for missing aircraft .Among many wrecks, they found mass graves of aircrew , executed . The kid and his father played cricket in a local team and I met them again in 1972 . My cricket career was short
