Default C15A steering column alignment

I am finishing my front end restauration on my C15A wire body truck , and my question is : are there spacers fitted between the steering column cast bracket to the cab bracket . This question comes up because the column is hitting the floor plate at the top . My CGT has a plate with distance springs fitted .
Can anybody help me with this ?
