Richard, to answer that would take this thread off in an entirely new direction!
The tank is the brilliant work of film maker Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings). It is a replica, but that description does not do it any justice. You can be 2 inches from this tank and not realise it's a fake. Stunning plus!! You have knock on it to realise it's made from plywood. It is based on a D6 Caterpillar and has a thin coating of epoxy shaped like the marks in cast armour and is painted up with mud, rust, grime and bare pockmarked bullet strikes to make look truly battle scarred and original. I'm going to have start another thread just to deal with the pics I have of this lovely beast, but what category? Armoured forum (It's not armour, it's plywood!), Restoration forum (It's built from new), WW2 equipment forum (It's not that!), Shows and Events (that's what it was made for, but it's not a show). Confused : ?
