Mystery vehicle I.D.

This vehicle appears in this picture http://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/British/barracuda in the company of a Royal Navy Barracuda aircraft.

It looks like some sort of airfield vehicle perhaps converted from a bus. The paint scheme looks very naval. Can anybody shed any light on this mystery?
