Default 10.50x16

More by accident than design, I ended up buying four 10.50x16 Mittas type tyres in the recent Jacksons sale.

My plan was to fit these on to my C15TA inlieu of the current 9.00x16's. I have an original NOS Avon 1950's production WD marked tyre I was going to use as the spare.

My problem is firstly the Mittas tyres appear to be only marginaly bigger than the current 9.00x16's, and secondly the original 10.50x16 tyre is bigger again.

Tyre sizes obviously refer to the wilth of the body and the rim to which they are being fitted to, but surely during the war at least there must have been standard exterior diameters for any set tyre size. Any comments?

Three of these tyres were fitted on to war-time dated split rims and will presumably bolt straight on to my vehicle.
