News you might have missed
The great ex-Military truck parts source in Wodonga, Victoria - North Eastern Truck Wreckers - has finally closed it's doors and had a clearing auction. NETW had been dealing with Army Surplus vehicle parts since the 50s, and although it has expanded it's business to accomodate most civvy heavy vehicles, there has always been military parts in the shed out the back. Jim Toole has decided to retire and unable to find a buyer for the business, has sold off all stock.
North eastern Truck Wreckers has always been a port of call for any travellers to Corowa eager to pick up a much needed part or just to browse.
Despite the Auction being a closely held secret, some of the better items were saved. This 1942 C60S was used as the yard crane and was road-registered and used right up to the day of the auction. Although obviously converted for it's civillian purpose, it has retained many original features. Could this be something of a record, a 63 year old vehicle still in regular commercial use?
