I was browsing through 24,0120 photos on 'Military' in Pictures Australias web site http://www.pictureaustralia.org/index.html and I came across these two photos in the Northern Territories Libary data banks.
The first is an Indian Bodied Chev Ambulance and is neg # 12366 and titled 'Come on in Ambulance in front of A and D room 119 Australian General Hospital 1942' The odd thing about it is it seems to be on a longer wheelbase then normal and has a canvas covered opening full hight just behind the cab on the LHS as well as no hinged door on the cab but rather a 'C' cab style. This is the first time I have seen this style of Indian Pattern body. Can anyone shed any further light on this one. Cheers Cliff ![]() Photo one the Chev |
