If you can't find the internally threaded style, then just use upholstery nuts behind the wood, and thread in the stud type fastener. The upholstery nuts are like a threaded washer with three clinch fingers on the outsides.

Don't be afraid to buy the fasteners in the 100 packs...you'll need them when you start restoring CMP trucks as well.
