I've seen the pic Patrick is talking about. A farmer and a team of horses pulling an American aircraft across the border into Canada. The story goes, apparently, that American pilots would fly aircraft to a northern airfield, taxi right up to the border, and the ground crew would tie a rope to the tail wheel and throw the rope across the border. Sometime later, the aircraft would "disappear." "Damn the luck!", the Americans would say, "we've lost another one!"
