I have noticed that CMP trucks have the pintle hook mounted in a variety of ways:
* some have leaf springs between cast brackets at the end of the chassis: * some are in line with the chassis rails, * others are below the chassis rails. * I have seen some bolted directly to the rear cross member, and others with a coil spring on a fabricated frame below the chassis. Can anyone clarify for me whether there is a pattern to all this? eg Ford vs Chev, or 16 inch rims vs 20 inch, or vehicle weight or role?? Rob C8AX Ambulance |
