Default 4th PLDG badge - two types

Hello, Texas!

I am guessing from your last transmission that you are in possession of a reference for badges for Canadian Regiments of Second World War (?).

I have scoured 4th PLDG regimental history for photos which include shoulder badges. The only ones I found were from Holland in '45 and showed a distinctly different patch then the one I refer to.

A picture of my uncle taken in '44 shows a curved arch-like badge with "4 P.L.D.G." in individual letters.

Badge in photos in book ('45) shows a fully written regimental title with the roman numeral "IV" in centre.

Is there anything in your field of reference to suggest that the badge changed and when?

The two insignia are quite different.

Thanks for your help on this. I could find nothing to assist me with query.

Cheers
