The following is a quote from Bruce Parker.
Quote:
"The box this came of was one on the 'lengthened' 1A1/1A2 boxes (as is typically seen here) and there were no remains of any wireless fixtures.
The lengthened boxes I'm referring to are not the 'official' boxes. They are original 1A series that have have been pushed forward (by the army I think). The extensions are sheet metal but the original forward face was re-used. This conversion of course required that the fuel tanks and chorehore were removed. I've seen two or three and once owned a 1940 F8 so modified."
Has anyone else heard of these boxes being lengthened? If they weren't wireless trucks anymore it would make sense.
