Default it did run when I got it

I need some help please.I got my M-37 home and it ran and was working.I put new points and condencer(correct ones) in the distributor and now it won't spark at the plugs. My nephew is a mechanic and went over the system.Nothing is grounding out that souldn't be .Every thing that sould have continuity does. The rotor shows no sign of cracking and ohm meter shows no leaking through. The only thing he can suggest is a bad coil but can't believe it would just quit that fast Have we missed something and how can we test the coil, the M-37 manual seems sparce on info.
