I have been asked by 37 CBG HQ to supply my Universal Carrier as the "Caisson" vehicle to transport the remains of Lieutenant General RW Moncel.

Bde Comd intends to sp the funeral ceremony of LGen Moncel with
an honour guard. This gd will be based primarily on 8CH iaw the family's wishes. The scheme of manoeuvre sees the funeral party moving to Hfx asap, as one formed body, and performing the ceremonial duties on 17 Dec. A Second World War universal carrier, under escort, will transport the remains of LGen Moncel from the CFB Halifax drill shed to the Base Chapel where a simple ceremony will take place. At the Chapel, a 50-person honour guard will provide an escort, two soldiers in VIII CH ceremonial uniform positioned at the Chapel doors, and a piper and a bugler (provided by 36 CBG) will be available for appropriate music.

It has been requested that the guard be comprised of Armour Corps soldiers only. VIII CH will provide the funeral parade commander and a 50-person guard, augmented by PEIR
soldiers and, if nec, CTC Armour School pers (DIRLN auth 8CH / PEIR/ CTC Armour Sch)

So, in respect to the funeral being comprised of "Armour Corps" only, I think it may be correct to cover up the North Nova Scotia Highlanders Formation/Tac signs with a more apropriate "Armour Corps" signs....

Any Suggestions of a unit to portray given his WWII service record ? What would a vehicle of the Commanding Officer 4th Canadian Armored Brigade have on it for tac/formation signs?
