ID wanted please

while browsing Pictures Australia http://www.pictureaustralia.org/index.html over the past couple of nights I came across this photo of Australian troops on Labuan Island, North Borneo, neg #an008014.

Now is the truck in the background a FWD? or if not what is it? It appears to be a tipper but I am judging this on the dirt lines in the rear tray, lack of rear mudguards and the high rest position of the deck rather then on any hard facts.

Also note the two ambulance jeeps in the foreground both with wounded diggers on.
