carrier ID registry

I have been searching for some sort of registry for carriers. It seems some get started but then disappear. The closest hint I had to a good source was the work by the late Mr. Peter Ford.

Does anyone know if any of his work survived? Either online, screen save or in print out? Did his family indeed continue with his legacy?

Now that I have finally pulled the upper and lower hull numbers from the rust and grime of my machine, I am trying to figure out a build date and serial number range for my carrier.

Any assistance in this matter would be really appreciated.
